I am thrilled to announce Eight Sleep has raised $86M in Series C funding led by Valor Equity Partners, with participation from other funds including SoftBank, Khosla Ventures, Founders Fund, and General Catalyst.
This is just day one
Eight Sleep was founded with the mission of fueling human potential through optimal sleep. In 2019, the Pod was first introduced to the public. The first edition of the Pod was the first of its kind sleep system, designed to improve sleep fitness utilizing dynamic temperature regulation, biometric tracking, and smart home integrations. Since the Pod’s launch, we have been able to serve tens of thousands of people a better sleep experience, and that number continues to grow everyday. We have seen so much love from our members on their sleep fitness journey, who have had dramatic improvements in their sleep, fitness, and overall health since sleeping on the Pod.
Sleep is an overlooked pillar of health, and Eight Sleep is changing that
Your overall health rests on three pillars: nutrition, exercise, and sleep. However, “sleep when you are dead” mentality is common for most of society that is in constant pursuit of making more of the waking hours. At Eight Sleep, we believe that it is time to change the conversation about sleep entirely. Sleep should be something that is prioritized, measured and worked on the same way nutrition and exercise are.
Eight Sleep is scaling the Sleep Fitness Movement
These new funds will be used to accelerate our innovation and technology roadmap, expand Eight Sleep to new parts of the world, and to triple the size of the Eight Sleep team. Our end goal is to develop the most sophisticated technologies for sleep improvement, to better the lives of all our members and ensure everyone can improve their sleep fitness for better health, performance, and longevity.
